About Hope Kits

The Herring Foundation of Hope offers a free "Hope Kit" to any recently diagnosed cancer patient in the USA.

Order Hope Kit

The Hope Kit is an invaluable collection of information and tools that have been carefully selected by a panel of people who have all been in the shoes of a newly diagnosed cancer patient and their family.

The Hope Kit contents cover a wide spectrum of topics and needs which immediately force themselves into the lives of the newly diagnosed cancer patient.  The materials are regularly reviewed to ensure they are the most accurate, current, unbiased, and easy-to-understand of materials available.  In addition to the books, CD, and journal that are included, the foundation has assembled a unique tabbed binder to use as a resource and repository for useful information during the recovery process.

Each free Hope Kit has a retail value of over $150. The Herring Foundation of Hope relies on donations and annual fundraising efforts to raise the money to sustain the free Hope Kit program. Our efforts and the generosity of our supports subsidize 100% of the cost of each Hope Kit and we only ask that the person ordering the kit pay $29 for shipping and handling to defray program expenses. The Herring Foundation of Hope is an all-volunteer organization and over 94% of the funds we raise directly support the Hope Kit program.

Includes the latest research on anticancer foods, including new alternatives to sugar and cautions about some that are now on the market, warnings about common food contaminants that have recently been proven to contribute to cancer progression, a mind-body approach to stress reduction (with recent studies on how stress can interfere with natural defenses), and a groundbreaking study showing that lifestyle modification reduces mortality for breast cancer patients by an astounding 68 percent after completion of treatment. (List Price $26.95)

Integrative Oncology

Donald Abrams, Andrew Weil

People facing a new cancer diagnosis are unsettled by their prognosis and treatment options, and often seek to integrate complementary modalities into their conventional care plan to improve their chances of cure and decrease side effects. Many do so without informing their oncologist, for fear of alienating them or not convinced that their physician would be informed about complementary therapies. Integrative Oncology provides a wealth of information for both practitioners and consumers on the emerging field of integrative oncology. The authors present up-to-date chapters on a wide spectrum of issues and challenges, bound into reader-friendly text in a format featuring key points, sidebars, tables, and a two-color design for ease of use.
